10.0 Far Cry
Far Cry by Ubisoft is a game with powerful and thorough graphical features, due to the use of a Direct3D based graphic engine: the hardware has to provide advanced performances in terms of Pixel Shader to get the best output.
The figures 22, 23 and 24 show that the X800 Pro and the 6800 GT scores are quite alike. The Radeon wins slightly in the first two tests. The Geforce wins in the the 1280x1024 High Quality test, where the larger memories bandwidth makes the difference.
The Crucial's card wins in best graphic quality conditions as well: the Radeon still shows a best performing with the AA and AF activated. The 9800 XT works well too.
Even if the 6800 GT in more performing with Doom3, indipendently from the driver and/or game setup the user chooses, it is notable that the Radeon X800 can assure the full playing even at 1280x1024 with AA and AF activated.
In the next page we look the performances with a Half-Life 2 based benchmark.
