You can't translate the page in english on VoodooAlert ?
that would be easier for many people. ;)

Wow, I'm truly surprised and happy at once that someone posted it in here. :)

Well, this comparison is the result of some experiments with modded drivers -- and I think everyone wants to know which one is the best. So I did this one. Have fun! =)

..read it all,its quite good.some tests and comparisons are quite redundant though-max payne2 for example, this game will never run on a voodoo3 because it simply needs 32bit colour.that means it wont launch no matter what driver.hmm..maybe I should plug in my voodoo3 2000 PCI and throw in some tests myself (SFFT vs Amigasport.I dont think its necessary to compate other drivers)..

Yep, that's what I've also written in the text! :-) The Voodoo3 has some bad restrictions like max 256² textures and only 16 Bit rendering. These prevent it from starting new games ...

I'll see what I can do concerning an english translation. I haven't much time at the moment, so I have to find someone who ca do this job. :D

Firefox has a plug-in that translates WEB pages from any of 12 different languages into English with the click of your mouse. It does it correctly too.

I can assure you guys that there will definitely be one based on a Voodoo5 5500 (PCI). I've just bought one today and I'll start testing in a few days. :-) So stay tuned, if you want. ;-)

Cool ;) and thanks Raff!

PS: when was released the v3's drivertest? (i guess it was before to SSFT alpha 26's release)

I've heard about something like the v3's does a texture compression. That is: it may receive a texture compressed for 16bit and spit out on the screen it decrunched as 32bit texture. That limitation was due to memory and bus timings maybe to enable production of both agp and pci, or maybe agp2x were too slow like pci (uh 400mb/s slug)

I am seeing and I dont belive it O_O Did somebody said that its actualy possible to run Max Payne 2 ona V3 ? O_O Forgive me this silly question, but I dont understand a sh*t in german :S And I am very very curious on that Max Payne 2 and V3. Could somebody tell me more about this ?

As far as I know, that's not possible. Maxey needs 32 bit ... but the Voodoo3 can't handle that. An option like "force 16 bit rendering" in a tool would be very nice for all Voodoos, because they are much faster then, without a big quality impact ...
