I recently rebuilt my Windows 98SE system.  However, now I am seeing "ghosting" on my monitor.  I didn't see this ghosting prior to rebuilding my computer and am using precisely the same settings.  It's very subtle, but is most noticeable at the bottom of black characters against a white background.  I have my resolution set to 1280x960 (same resolution I used before I rebuilt my computer), am using Windows 98SE, have a 3DFX Voodoo 3 card (found this info from Device Manager) and have a Princeton Graphics VL1715 monitor.  I've tried adjusting all the settings on the monitor and can't get rid of the ghosting.

Can someone please provide me with some ideas as to what I should do to restore the graphics to how they were before I rebuilt the computer.

hmm..I assume it is not possible to capture the effect on a screenshot? maybe the monitor is going bad (bit off topic: all the lcds at my workplace were bought at the same time four or five years ago,and now they have hit their life expectancy maximum and they are dying of in swarms [xx(])..

Thanks for your response.

The ghosting is too subtle to show in a screenshot.

I know the monitor isn't going bad, as it didn't look like this just before I reformatted the hard drive.

I must have had some kind of updated driver in the computer prior to rebuilding Windows 98SE, but I can't seem to find it nor do I know what version it was.

Also, if it means anything, I am running directX 8.1
