SFFT Alpha 2 Driver
We
have decided to make public testing of a experimental driver kit
for 3dfx Voodoo4 and Voodoo5 video cards and Windows 2000/XP OSes: it' s SFFT
Alpha 2
release. This driver, received from our english board member of
same name, is shipped without 3dfx Tools: so it has a small
package size (1.50Mb) but requires manual 3dfx tools add-on
after archive unzipping on hard drive if you would change video
settings by control panel. Before
driver installation and running tests, we suggest to provide to
a optimal hardware configuration: of course you would install
latest driver for motherboard chip-set and Service Pack for
Operative System, restore default frequency values for possible
overclocked components like cpu and/or ram and/or main system
bus or AGP/PCI bus. Besides,
we suggest to update Microsoft DirectX to 9.0b version before
driver setup. You

This driver is posted for public download. Please
consider we need your feedback about both its stability
and performance responses on many hardware and software
configurations to do bug fixing and release improving. So
download this alpha using one among following links and
try it with your favourite games. Then give us your
feedback writing a report to this
forum topic (only free registration is
required) and specifying your main hardware components,
like mainboard, cpu(s), system RAM memory, and
OS(es).
Driver Installation
Because this driver kit does not hold both installer program and 3dfx Tools you
must install it by "Update Driver" table in
"Device Manager",
then click on the "Video Card"
icon and select the "Driver
Update" tab using the SFFT driver2k folder as the drivers
source. Now,
if you want customize the SFFT driver configuration, you can
install 3dfx
Tools or use a 3dfx hardware
tweaker (as VControl).
