Keys are made in plastic treated to look like the aluminum surface of the keyboard, every key have got a wide surface that makes the fingering easy also for people with big fingers and have got a short run to increase comfort, moreover fingering noise is very low and in most cases not annoying; every key is granted for over 10 millions keystrokes.
Letters on every key are printed in dark gray, this color have a low contrast with the gray of the keys of the keyboard we are reviewing; in some light conditions the glare coming from the keys and the keyboard, although very reduced by the opacifying treatment endured by the aluminum, makes really difficult to read the letters wrote on the keys.
Next to the numeric keypad there are three blue LEDs used to show the activation of, from left to right, Block Num, Caps Lock and Bloc Scorr.
Those LEDs generate not very intense light and the give a bit more of style to the keyboard.
In the back of the keyboard, next to the three LEDs, there are two USB version 1.0 plugs; the chassis in that point is flat, moreover them are in the highest point of the keyboard granting also the most cumbersome peripherals can be plugged correctly.
Every USB plug can distribute a current of maximum 100mA, while a standard USB plug can distribute a current up to 500mA, this make impossible to use some peripherals powered through the USB connection, like mass memories (for example USB flash drives and external Hard Disks without auxiliary power supply).
On the left side there are two audio connectors; these connectors ends in two 3.5mm jacks that exit from the USB cable near its end.
They are useful for extend the audio card's connectors, and they allows to plug a microphone or headphones without stand up from the chair; obviously plugging these jacks isn't necessary to use the keyboard, and doesn't matter which audio device these jack are connected to.
In the next page we will write our conclusions about Aurora keyboard.
