What's it?

FastVoodoo2 4.5 beta 2 is a public beta for users testing. It supports 3dfx Voodoo2 based cardson Windows 95/98/98SE/ME environments adding compatibility for Voodoo2 SLI done by mismatched cards. We remember
that mismatched means two no same manufacturer boards go to make up your Voodoo2 SLI setup: for exampleone arrives from Creative and one from Diamond.

Driver Setup
------------


This driver is not shipped with automatic installation procedure: you must execute these steps
to get a correct configuration.


0) Install MS DirectX 7.0 or above and reboot the system


1) Click on downloaded file named "fv2_4.5_b2_mm" and unzip the FastVoodoo2 4.5 beta 2 MM folder


2) Remove any previus Voodoo2 Windows 9X driver (for example FastVoodoo2 4.0 GE) from Windows control panel and reboot the system


3) Delete any Voodoo2 related files in Windows\inf\others folder. Please note that this folder is hidden so you must enable all files view


4) Reboot the system


5) Windows now detects Voodoo2 card and searchs for a driver: you must specify the path of "FastVoodoo2_4.5_b2_MM\driver9x" folder


6) Reboot the system


7) Voodoo2 SLI users must repeat the steps 5 and 6 for both the cards


Hardware overclock feature
--------------------------


In order to add overclock settings in driver control panel:


1)Open the FastVoodoo2_4.5_b2_MM/Tools/Tweaker folder


2)Copy Voodoo2_OC directory in Windows/System folder


3)Open it and do a double click on "V2_OC_control_panel.exe" file


4) Reboot the system


Driver Control Panel
--------------------


You can make custom adjustments to FastVoodoo2 4.5 beta 2 MM settings using driver control panel.
This can improve compatibility and/or performance with both Direct3D and OpenGL/GLide games.


To open the control panel:


1) Double-click on My Computer. When the window opens, scroll or browse until you see the Control Panel folder


2) Double-click on Control Panel. When this window opens, scroll or browse until you see the Display control panel


3) Double-click on Display. The Display Properties sheet appears


4) Click on the Settings tab, then on Advanced


Now 3dfx Voodoo2-1000 and V2-OC tabs are displayed.
