Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, ZOTAC International ha annunciato due nuove soluzioni nell'ambito della gamma di schede grafiche della linea ZONE Edition, che ricordiamo essere ottimizzata per generare un livello di rumore pari a zero. Si tratta delle schede grafiche ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 ZONE Edition e ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR3 ZONE Edition, entrambe basate sulla gpu GeForce 9500GT prodotta da NVIDIA e dotate di un coooler passivo ("ZOTAC ZONE Passive Cooling") che assicura la massima silenziosità operativa possibile, in contrapposizione a qualsiasi approccio che faccia uso di un dissipatore attivo.

In entrambi i casi la frequenza di clock della gpu, che include 32 processori di stream, è pari a 550MHz; anche la dotazione di memoria on board è identica, essendo pari a 512Mb. Tuttavia le RAM G-DDR2 della prima lavorano a 800MHz contro i 1600MHz dei chip di G-DDR3 della seconda.

HONG KONG – Aug. 19, 2008 – ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd., a leading NVIDIA partner, today announced the two latest additions to its silent ZONE Edition product lineup – the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and GeForce 9500GT DDR3 ZONE Editions. The new ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions pair the high-performance of NVIDIA’s GeForce 9500GT graphics processor with passive cooling for a silent graphical computing experience.

The ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and GeForce 9500GT DDR3 ZONE Editions eliminate noise from the graphics card by replacing the active GPU cooler on ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and GeForce 9500GT DDR3 models. In place of the active GPU cooler is a large passive cooler that allows the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions to operate silently.

"We sought to eliminate noise from our affordable ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT DDR2 and DDR3 models," said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd. As with the other NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT-based products, the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions feature NVIDIA’s unified architecture with 32 blazing-fast stream processors. The 32 stream processors are paired with 512MB of high-speed GDDR2 or GDDR3 graphics memory, connected via 128-bit wide bus to keep up with the demands of 3D gaming.

In addition to high-performance, the ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions feature a second-generation PureVideo HD video-processing engine, making the cards ideal solutions for digital home applications such as home theater PCs. PureVideo HD technology enhances and cleans up all digital video content for optimal viewing on high-definition displays up to Full HD 1080p resolutions.

PureVideo HD technology is also ideal for watching high-definition content such as Blu-ray and HD DVD movies. The PureVideo HD video-processing engine decodes high-definition H.264 content, typically used by Blu-ray and HD DVD movies, completely using the GPU to free up the CPU for more mundane tasks. High-definition VC-1 encoded content also receives hardware accelerated decoding with the PureVideo HD video-processing engine, for low CPU utilization during playback.

The ZOTAC GeForce 9500GT ZONE Editions also feature HDMI output via included DVI-to-HDMI adapter and S/PDIF audio input so users can connect any S/PDIF capable audio device to the graphics card for simultaneous audio and video output. Additionally, the dual dual-link DVI outputs, HDMI included, are HDCP complaint, allowing users to view protected high-definition content, when connected to an HDCP capable display.
