WALNUT, Calif., Sept. 22, 2006 - ViewSonic Corp. today announced two product offerings for the increasingly popular big and wide LCD TV segment. Starting at $999, the 37-inch N3751w and the 42-inch N4251w come with an integrated digital (ATSC) tuner and multiple high-definition digital video inputs to work with the video technology of tomorrow without the need for future upgrades.
The TVs are ViewSonic’s latest “future-proof” product offerings, providing multiple digital video inputs that are compatible with HDCP copyright protection and the HDMI video format. This compatibility protects consumer investments by ensuring their TVs can display copyrighted material and digital TV content at its highest image quality. Consumers can connect HD set-top boxes, DVD players and game consoles simultaneously through multiple HDMI inputs, which are also DVI compatible through the use of an adapter or cable. In addition, the N3751w and N4251w are equipped with integrated digital tuners, allowing consumers to view over-the-air HD broadcasts without purchasing or renting an external tuner.
“High-definition widescreen LCD televisions continue to be the top choice for consumers who want the best visual experience when watching TV and DVDs or playing the latest HD console game,” said Jeff Volpe , vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. “The N3751w and N4251w satisfy this demand, bringing the cinema experience to living rooms and combining the luxury and convenience of a true flat-screen with great performance and value.”
The N3751w and N4251w, available at an estimated street price of $999 and $1,499 respectively, deliver high-definition 1366x768 video resolutions, 8 millisecond video response times and 1000:1 contrast ratios. In addition to supporting HDCP and HDMI, the displays connect easily to traditional TV peripherals using S-video, component video (YPbPr) and composite video inputs. Both displays feature VGA connections, allowing users to view traditional computer applications as well as high-definition video content from computers, along with a 2x10W Dolby audio with SPDIF output connection to boost sound potential through external surround-sound audio systems.
To assist customers with the installation of their new display and leverage existing AV equipment, ViewSonic includes a four-page guide with purchase. The full-color, multi-language resource includes photos, illustrations and clear directions for connecting the TV to audio and video peripherals like DVD players, stereo receivers and video game systems, and explains the differences among available input connections.
The N3751w and N4251w are available now through authorized ViewSonic retailers and resellers. The displays are backed by a one-year limited warranty on parts, labor and backlight and are eligible for ViewSonic’s optional Express Exchange program, which guarantees a replacement monitor within 48 hours, where service is available. An optional two-year extended warranty is also available. ViewSonic offers toll-free technical support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, excluding major U.S. holidays.
