Samsung Electronics ha presentato al Computex 2014 lo smartphone Samsung Z destinato a divenire a breve il primo telefono sul mercato basato sulla piattaforma Tizen. Più in dettaglio, questo smartphone è configurato con il Sistema Operativo Linux-based Tizen versione 2.2.1, che include tra l'altro uno store ufficiale da cui scaricare app, ed è basato su un SoC quad-core che lavora con una frequenza di clock pari a 2.3GHz.
In accordo al produttore, il display del Samsung Z è un HD da 4.8-inch realizzato con la tecnologia Super AMOLED e caratterizzato da una risoluzione video nativa pari a 1280 x 720 pixel. Il Samsung Z include inoltre 2GB di RAM e uno storage interno da 16MB che può essere ampliato ulteriormente con l'aggiunta di una memory card di tipo microSD con capacità massima pari a 64GB.
Questo smarphone, che integra anche una cam anteriore da 2.1MP e una posteriore da 8MP, garantisce, in base al comunicato stampa di Samsung, prestazioni di primo piano sia per quanto concerne la velocità della fase di startup che la capacità di elaborazione in multi-tasking. Di buon livello è anche la qualità della grafica sia 2D che 3D.
Il Samsung Z sarà lanciato in Russia nel corso del terzo trimestre del 2014 e a seguire negli altri mercati.

The external design of the Samsung Z also offers a completely new look. The Samsung Z will be available in two refined colors: Black and Gold.
The Samsung Z will be available in Q3 in Russia and is planned to expand to other markets. Users will be offered to access additional applications through the Tizen Store at the launch of the Samsung Z. In order to celebrate the launch the worlds first Tizen smartphone and to encourage more developers to join, the Tizen Store will provide a special promotional program to all developers for one year. Furthermore, Samsung plans to host a Tizen local app challenges in Russia and CIS countries to enrich the Tizen eco-system at the launch of the device.
