Per sfruttare al massimo il potenziale di Thunderbolt 2, LaCie ha progettato Little Big Disk avvalendosi di alcune delle migliori unità SSD sul mercato — due unità SSD PCle Gen 2 da 500 GB. Il collegamento a cascata di due Little Big Disk consente di superare ancora di più i confini tecnologici, ottenendo velocità superiori alla velocità di trasferimento massima offerta da Thunderbolt 2. STORAGE FOR THE 4K ERA
To achieve the full potential of Thunderbolt 2 speeds, LaCie engineered the Little Big Disk with some of the best–performing solid state drives on the market — a pair of 500 GB PCIe Gen 2 SSDs. It's possible to push the boundaries of the technology even further by daisy chaining two LaCie Little Big Disks to achieve speeds faster than the maximum Thunderbolt 2 transfer rate. RE-ENGINEERED FOR WHISPER-QUIET DUAL COOLING
Including high–performance SSDs and interface meant LaCie had to optimize the Little Big Disk's interior design to improve cooling efficiency, while simultaneously reducing noise. LaCie added two heat–dissipating aluminum plates in addition to a larger, thermoregulated fan. This means that the fan only turns on when necessary, and when it does, it produces nearly zero noise.
