Apple ha mostrato oggi un'anteprima sul futuro del desktop pro, con un primo sguardo al Mac Pro di prossima generazione. Progettato intorno a un rivoluzionario core termico unificato, il Mac Pro introduce un'architettura desktop pro completamente rinnovata e un design ottimizzato per le prestazioni, dentro e fuori. Con la prossima generazione di processori Xeon, due GPU di classe workstation, Thunderbolt 2, archiviazione flash basata su PCIe e memoria ECC ultrarapida, il nuovo Mac Pro racchiude in un case incredibilmente piccolo,alto appena 25 cm, un'incredibile quantità di potenza.

Il risultato è un desktop pro dalle prestazioni rivoluzionarie racchiuso in un design che occupa un ottavo del volume dell'attuale Mac Pro. I processori Intel Xeon E5 di ultima generazione, con configurazioni fino a 12 core, offrono il doppio delle prestazioni in virgola mobile. Con due GPU AMD FirePro di classe workstation, il nuovo Mac Pro è fino a 2,5 volte più veloce del modello attuale e offre fino a 7 teraflop di potenza di elaborazione. Il nuovo Mac Pro è inoltre dotato di archiviazione flash basata su PCIe, fino a 10 volte più veloce dei tradizionali dischi rigidi desktop, e include la più recente memoria ECC DDR3 a quattro canali a 1866MHz, per offrire fino a 60GBps di ampiezza di banda della memoria.* Con tutta questa potenza, il nuovo Mac Pro consente di montare facilmente video 4K a risoluzione piena mentre si esegue allo stesso tempo il rendering degli effetti in background.

Apple today showed a sneak peek into the future of the pro desktop with a first look at the next generation Mac Pro. With two AMD FirePro workstation-class GPUs, the all-new Mac Pro is up to 2.5 times faster than the current Mac Pro and delivers up to an amazing 7 teraflops of compute power.
