NVIDIA ha annunciato cinque nuove GPU per notebook nell'ambito della linea GeForce 700M GPU. I nuovi chip grafici di NVIDIA sono siglati GeForce GT 750M (si tratta della soluzione flag-ship tra le nuove SKU), GeForce GT 745M, GeForce GT 740M, GeForce GT 735M e GeForce GT 720M: i primi tre sono indirizzati al segmento performance, mentre gli altri due a quello mainstream.

NVIDIA sottolinea, nell'ambito del comunicato stampa di presentazione, il supporto, da parte dei nuovi prodotti, di tre tecnologie, come GPU Boost 2.0, Optimus e GeForce Experience, le quali, lavorando in background e dunque in maniera trasparente per l'utente finale, assicurano prestazioni ottimali, il contenimento del consumo di potenza e l'ottimizzazione della resa grafica rispettivamente.

GPU Boost 2.0, infatti, regola automaticamente la frequenza di clock della gpu per massimizzarne le prestazioni, mentre Optimus disattiva la gpu, quando essa non è in uso, incrementando in ultima analisi la durata della batteria. GeForce Experience, infine, provvede all'aggiornamento automatico del driver video, da un lato, e alla configurazione ottimale della gpu in funzione dello specifico game, dall'altro.

I notebook con le nuove gpu GeForce 700M sono sul mercato, o in arrivo, in virtù della collaborazione con i noti system builder Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Sony e Toshiba.

NVIDIA today announced five new notebook GPUs which deliver a trifecta of technologies that seamlessly and automatically maximize a consumer's notebook performance and experience.

With no effort or input from the notebook user, the technologies work in the background to save battery life, enhance performance and enrich the visual experience -- providing the best notebook experience the GPU can deliver. They include:

• New NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0 technology, which intelligently adjusts GPU clock speed to maximize graphics performance.
• NVIDIA Optimus technology, which enables extra-long battery life by switching the GPU on and off so it runs only when needed.
• GeForce Experience software, which adjusts in-game settings for the best performance and visual quality specific to a user's notebook and keeps GeForce drivers up to date.

Incorporating all three of these technologies, the new lineup of NVIDIA GeForce 700M GPUs includes GeForce GT 750M, GeForce GT 745M, and GeForce GT 740M GPUs for the performance segment, as a well as GeForce GT 735M and GeForce GT 720M GPUs for the mainstream segment.

NVIDIA GeForce 700M GPUs are available today. Every leading notebook manufacturer will be introducing notebooks with GPU Boost 2.0 technology, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba.
