SAPPHIRE Technology lancia la sua nuova scheda madre che supporta l'ultima famiglia di CPU di Intel i7/i5/i3 con socket LGA1155, la Pure Platinum Z77/K. La scheda implementa tutte le funzioni del chipset, tra cui PCI-Express 3.0 Gen3 multiplo, USB 3.0, SATA 6G e supporto completo I/O. Sono presenti quattro socket di memoria a doppio canale, che supportano fino a 16GB di memoria DDR3 a tecnologia corrente, e sono in grado di supportare, quando si rendono disponibili gli opportuni moduli, fino a un massimo di 32GB.

La scheda dispone di quattro porte SATA2 3Gb/s e di due porte SATA3 6Gb/s che supportano le funzionalità AHCI e RAID, opportunamente montate con connettori ad angolo retto sul bordo della scheda. La connettività avanzata è assicurata da una Realtek Gigabit LAN e da una Killer E2200 Gigabit LAN opzionale. Sono presenti quattro porte USB 3.0 (due sul retro e due su un frontalino supportate da un kit per pannello frontale di alta qualità) nonché dieci porte USB 2.0 (di cui 4 sul pannello posteriore). Il pannello posteriore contiene anche le uscite ottiche SPDIF oltre alla configurazione I/O standard per la scheda audio incorporata HD 7.1. Le uscite per la grafica Intel HD on-chip sono DVI, HDMI e VGA.

L'ampio supporto di espansione è assicurato da quattro slot PCI-Express Gen 3.0 X16 che consentono l'uso di fino a quattro schede da utilizzare in CrossFireX. La scheda dispone inoltre di due slot PCI-Express X1. Un connettore standard Molex a 4 pin presente sul bordo della scheda può essere utilizzato per fornire maggiore potenza se sono utilizzate più schede.

Molte caratteristiche user friendly sono state incorporate nella SAPPHIRE Pure Platinum Z77/K, come il display digitale di debug e un pulsante di reset per il BIOS, oltre che i pulsanti di avvio e di reset sistema. In particolare questi pulsanti sono molto apprezzati dagli appassionati interessati all'ottimizzazione della prestazione o dell'overclocking. La funzionalità Dual BIOS facilita la sperimentazione e gli aggiornamenti. Questa scheda presenta il nuovo SAPPHIRE QBIOS, un BIOS UEFI facile da usare con numerose funzioni di overclocking, e include l'S_BIOS che consente all'utente di aggiornare e salvare direttamente dallo stesso BIOS, senza necessità di collegamento da disco esterno. Per gli utenti appassionati sono predisposti sul bordo della scheda i pad di controllo tensione per i voltaggi critici sia sulla CPU sia sui circuiti di memoria.

SAPPHIRE Pure Platinum Z77/K offre una elevata qualità di costruzione. Dispone di un PCB nero multilayer e utilizza connettori di qualità elevata placcati oro per le USB 3.0 e LAN. Incorpora inoltre molte delle caratteristiche di fascia alta associate al marchio SAPPHIRE, come l'uso di affidabili condensatori solidi. La circuiteria di regolazione tensione multifase PWM per entrambi i moduli CPU e memoria incorpora i condensatori Diamond Black di SAPPHIRE con i raffreddatori già presenti nelle schede grafiche di fascia alta di SAPPHIRE. I raffreddatori a basso profilo sulla sezione PWM consentono all'utente un'ampia scelta di condensatori per CPU senza alcun rischio di ostruzione.

I tool di monitoraggio hardware e il software proprietario di SAPPHIRE Mainboard TriXX consentono agli utenti di revisionare e regolare un'ampia gamma di parametri di sistema, ottimizzando la prestazione della CPU.

SAPPHIRE Technology, a leading manufacturer and global supplier of graphics, mainboard and multimedia solutions has just announced a new mainboard developed to support the latest family of CPUs from Intel. The SAPPHIRE Pure Platinum Z77/K is a full ATX sized board that supports the latest generation Intel i7/i5/i3 processor family using socket LGA1155. It includes full implementation of the chipset features, including multiple PCI-Express 3.0 Gen3, USB 3.0, SATA 6G and extensive I/O support. Four dual channel memory sockets are provided, supporting up to 16GB of DDR3 memory with current technology (32GB max when suitable modules become available).

The board has four SATA2 3Gb/s ports, and two SATA3 6Gb/s ports featuring AHCI and RAID support, conveniently mounted on the edge of the board with right angle connectors. Advanced connectivity is provided by one Realtek Gigabit LAN and a second optional Killer E2200 Gigabit LAN. There are four USB 3.0 ports (two at the rear and two on a header supported by a high quality front panel kit) as well as ten USB 2.0 ports (4 on the rear panel). The rear panel also carries optical SPDIF as well as the standard I/O configuration for the on board HD 7.1 Audio. Outputs for the on-chip Intel HD graphics are DVI, HDMI and VGA.

Extensive expansion support is provided by four PCI-Express Gen 3.0 X16 slots, which allow up to four graphics cards to be used in CrossFireX. It also has two PCI-Express X1 slots. A standard 4-pin Molex connector on the edge of the board can be used to provide additional power when multiple cards are used.

Many user friendly features have been incorporated in the SAPPHIRE Pure Platinum Z77/K, such as digital debug display and a push button reset for the BIOS, as well as start and system reset buttons. These are especially useful for enthusiasts interested in performance tuning or overclocking. The provision of a Dual BIOS allows for experimentation and updates. This board features the SAPPHIRE QBIOS, an easy to use UEFI BIOS with many overclocking features, and includes S_BIOS which allows the user to update and back up the BIOS from within the BIOS – there is no need to boot from an external disk. For the hard-core enthusiast, voltage test pads have been brought out to the edge of the board for the critical voltages on the CPU and memory.

The build quality of the SAPPHIRE Pure Platinum Z77/K is high. It has a black multilayer PCB, and uses high quality gold plated connectors for USB 3.0 and LAN. It incorporates many of the high end features associated with the SAPPHIRE brand, such as the use of high reliability solid capacitors throughout. The multi-phase PWM voltage regulation circuitry for both the CPU and memory modules incorporate the SAPPHIRE Diamond Black chokes with coolers that have featured on SAPPHIRE’s high end graphics cards. Low profile coolers on the PWM section give users a wide choice of CPU cooler without risk of obstruction.

Hardware monitoring tools and the SAPPHIRE proprietary Mainboard TriXX software allow users to review and adjust a range of system parameters while optimizing performance of the CPU.
