Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, AMD ha annunciato le video card FirePro V5800 DVI e FirePro 2270, due soluzioni dedicate all'ambito professionale e ottimizzate per la riduzione del consumo di potenza, da un lato, e per le funzionalità multi-display, dall'altro.
La ATI FirePro V5800 include una gpu con 800 stream processor mentre l'interfaccia con la RAM (1GB di G-DDR5) è a 128-bit; la scheda è dotata di due uscite Dual-link DVI, capaci di lavorare alla risoluzione di 2560x2048 pixel, e supporta le librerie OpenGL 4.1, OpenCL 1.1 e DirectX 11. La video card è utilizzabile sia in ambiente Windows che Linux (32-bit e 64-bit).
La ATI FirePro 2270 è una low-profile, raffreddata con un cooler passivo; la scheda può vantare un consumo di potenza notevolmente ridotto, dal momento che il suo valore massimo è pari a 15W e quello medio a 10W, mentre la memoria RAM on board è pari a 512MB. Anche in questo caso le API grafiche supportate sono le OpenGL 4.1, OpenCL 1.1 e DirectX 11.
Il prezzo di riferimento della ATI FirePro V5800 DVI è pari a $469, mentre quello della ATI FirePro 2270 è pari a $149.
