Maggiore produttore di schede madri al mondo, ASUS pone oggi una nuova pietra miliare in questo settore, dando il via ad un approccio del tutto nuovo nella loro progettazione.

L’innovativa ed avanzata architettura Dual Intelligent Processors consente, infatti, di migliorare le performance e ridurre al contempo i consumi energetici sfruttando due coprocessori: TurboV Processing Unit (TPU) ed Energy Processing Unit (EPU). Le schede madri basate su questa nuova architettura, sono in grado di ottimizzare il sistema, permettendo di ottenere prestazioni significativamente maggiori dal proprio PC ed assicurando allo stesso tempo un minor impatto ambientale.

Evoluzione della tecnologia ASUS TurboV, il TPU ha il doppio compito di fornire da una parte un surplus di potenza di elaborazione, per poter incrementare le performance in tempo reale, e dall’altra di monitorare costantemente i miglioramenti ottenuti, per garantire la massima stabilità. Il TPU è anche in grado di alleviare la CPU durante le applicazioni più impegnative, ottimizzando le risorse ed offrendo così le massime prestazioni. Supporta, inoltre, tutte le funzionalità ASUS preposte alla modifica dei parametri di sistema, regalando un incremento in termini di prestazioni complessive fino al 37% in più rispetto a schede madri non dotate di TPU.

"Non è per nulla facile oggi arrivare ad incrementare ulteriormente le performance delle mainboard, soprattutto in modo così semplice ed immediato, ma è quello che l’avanzata ASUS TPU riesce a fare.", ha commentato Joe Hsieh, General Manager ASUS Motherboard Business Unit, che ha proseguito: "Per regolare manualmente i parametri di sistema occorre molta esperienza e rimane comunque una pratica rischiosa, mentre la tecnologia TPU regala prestazioni maggiori in maniera automatica, senza doversi preoccupare di nulla, in modo che chiunque possa chiedere di più al proprio PC."

Dedicato al controllo e alla gestione del consumo energetico è, invece, ASUS EPU, il secondo elemento della nuova architettura Dual Intelligent Processors. In particolare EPU si occupa di ridurre i consumi quando il carico di lavoro è meno intenso come, ad esempio, durante la consultazione di pagine Web, la redazione di documenti o di fogli elettronici, mentre fornisce automaticamente piena potenza al sistema in caso di compiti gravosi, per disporre della massima velocità anche in queste situazioni.

La tecnologia Dual Intelligent Processors è già disponibile su una vasta gamma di schede madri ASUS.

ASUS, the global motherboard leader, has announced a new approach to motherboard design, Dual Intelligent Processors, with two intelligent co-processors responsible for system optimization towards better performance and greater energy efficiency.

This cutting edge architecture comprises the TurboV Processing Unit, or TPU, and Energy Processing Unit, or EPU. Together they help users benefit from extreme system performance while still conserving the environment by reducing a PC’s ultimate carbon foot print.

The co-processors address the two prime issues behind PC hardware evolution–performance and energy efficiency. As CPU makers strive to reach ever higher core counts and 32nm fabrication, this technology from ASUS promotes system optimization, utilizing smart design to enable performance while at the same time saving energy. It presents an effective way to get more out of existing PC hardware.

The TPU consists of a complete overhaul of ASUS’ extant TurboV design, presenting a support processing unit dedicated to speeding up performance in real time while monitoring gains to ensure stability. The TPU relieves much of the stress put on the CPU during intense tasks, tuning overall resources to achieve the fastest performance possible. The TPU supports various ASUS-exclusive performance tweaking innovations, and this auto tuning feature quickly finds optimized system settings to boost output up to 37%.

The ASUS proprietary EPU, or Energy Processing Unit, comes in as the second of the Dual Intelligent Processors. It monitors and moderates power consumption, helping users save energy and ultimately lower their carbon emissions. EPU programming keeps close watch on actual usage, reducing consumption during low intensity activities and opening up processing capabilities when needed. When engaged in web browsing, word processing and office activities, this translates into major savings for most users. Performance mode engages automatically on demand, so there’s never any lag involved.
