Corsair ha annunciato il kit di memorie DDR3 Dominator GT 2000MHz CAS 8 da 6GB (3x2GB), la prima soluzione al mondo che può vantare la certificazione XMP per l'utilizzo in abbinamento ai processori Core i7 Extreme Edition di Intel (l'elenco completo dei prodotti XMP-Ready è consultabile a questo indirizzo, ndr).

In accordo alla denominazione del produttore, le nuove DIMM occupano la posizione di flag-ship della linea Dominator GT, che rappresenta l'offerta di fascia alta di Corsair per le configurazioni Core i7. Le DIMM sono certificate per operare a 2000MHz con timing pari a 8-8-8-24 e con una tensione di alimentazione pari a 1.65V.

E' al solito molto ricca, come da tradizione Corsair, la dotazione di sistemi di cooling aggiuntivi, molto utili per spingere con l'overclock dei moduli di RAM: pur essendo realizzate con l'ausilio della tecnologia proprietaria DHX+ (Dual-path Heat eXchange), pensata per raffreddare entrambi i lati delle DIMM, è possibile fare ricorso alle soluzioni opzionali Hydro Series H30 e Ice Series T30, la prima delle quali è sostanzialmente un cooler a liquido e la seconda un cooler attivo dotato di due ventole, come si evince, rispettivamente, dalla seconda e dalla terza foto presenti di seguito.

Fremont, CA, May 20th, 2009 - Corsair, a worldwide leader in high performance computer and flash memory products, today announced that the 6GB Dominator GT 2000MHz CAS 8 has passed Intel’s XMP-Ready certification for Core i7 Extreme Edition processors, making it the fastest memory kit to gain Intel’s stamp of approval.

The 6GB Dominator GT 2000MHz CAS 8 (TR3X6G2000C8GTF) is part of Corsair’s award-winning Dominator GT line of hand-screened, hand-tuned, extreme performance DDR3 memory for Core i7 platforms. All Corsair Dominator GT modules are built using the patent-pending DHX+ (Dual-path Heat eXchange) heatsink, which uniquely cools both the front and back of the memory ICs, and the printed circuit board, for greater reliability and increased overclocking flexibility. DHX+ modules also utilize removable heatsink fins, which allows for range of Dominator GT cooling options, including the Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H30 waterblock and Ice Series T30 thermo-electric cooler, which actively cools the modules up to 20°C below ambient temperature for maximum overclockability.
