Activision has lately posted a press release to celebrate the economic performance of its latest first-person shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts.
According to the publisher, in fact, the company sold more than $1 billion of Call of Duty: Ghosts into retail stores worldwide as of day one from the game's
launch.
Another signal of the success of Call of Duty: Ghosts is the wide number of on line players; on this topic Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision, said that
"millions of people are already playing Call of Duty: Ghosts on line". Besides, this FPS is the the most played game on Xbox Live according to Microsoft.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is also a launch title for the Xbox One and Playstation 4, so the publisher is aiming to get a new target expecting that "Call of Duty:
Ghosts to be the most successful launch title for the Xbox One and PS4 by a wide margin".
Call of Duty: Ghosts is the tenth title of the Call of Duty franchise, and the sixth developed by Infinity Ward (the edition for Wii U was built by
Treyarch). Based on IW graphics engine, Call of Duty: Ghosts is already available for PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 starting from November 5th.
The edition of Call of Duty: Ghosts for Xbox One is set to be launched on November 15th in North America and on November 29th in Europe, while the PS4
edition will be released on November 22th worldwide.
Both the editions for next gen consoles are available for pre-order. According to GameStop, Call of Duty: Ghosts is their most pre-reserved next gen
title.
