Full title: NVIDIA Appoints Industry Pioneer Neil Trevett as Vice President of Content Development SANTA CLARA, CA―JULY 6, 2005―NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced the addition of Neil Trevett as vice president of content development. In this role, Mr. Trevett will spearhead the Company’s efforts to enable the development of content from independent software developers that will work seamlessly with the latest NVIDIA® graphics technology in embedded platforms. Mr. Trevett’s content development team will focus on platforms including, but not limited to, mobile phones, medical imaging devices, game consoles, and onboard navigation systems. "The growth of rich graphic content in embedded applications drove the decision to strengthen our focus on software developers who specialize in those markets," stated Dan Vivoli, senior vice president of marketing at NVIDIA. "NVIDIA intends to create an embedded content development ecosystem that combines the power of open standards with compelling development tools and superior developer support. Mr. Trevett’s long record of leadership in industry standards groups makes him a familiar, trusted face for the 3D graphics developer community, and a perfect fit for this key position in our management team." Mr. Trevett has spent 20 years in the 3D graphics industry. In 1985, Mr. Trevett joined benchMark Technologies as Head of Graphics Systems. benchMark later became DuPont Pixel and eventually evolved into the independently owned 3Dlabs, Inc. Mr. Trevett held the position of Senior Vice President of 3Dlabs from 1994 to 2005. During that time, Mr. Trevett was at the forefront of the silicon revolution bringing interactive 3D to the PC, and he holds several important patents in the area of graphics technology. For the past seven years, Mr. Trevett has also served as President of the Web3D Consortium, a group of industry-leading companies dedicated to creating open standards for communicating real-time 3D on the Internet. In 2001, Mr. Trevett was elected President of the Khronos Group and created and currently chairs the OpenGL ES working group to define small footprint versions of OpenGL to bring advanced 3D graphics to a broad range of embedded devices, including mobile phones. Mr. Trevett holds a first-class joint B.Sc. Electronic Engineering and Computer Science degree in the UK. Links
