Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, il produttore di dissipatori Noctua ha annunciato l'avvio di una partnership con LaCie finalizzata allo sviluppo di soluzioni di storage esterne ottimizzate dal punto di vista della livello di rumore generato dal sistema di raffreddamento.

La cooperazione ha già permesso l'implementazione delle unità di storage LaCie 4big Quadra e LaCie 5big Network, peraltro annunciate di recente, che si avvalgono della ben nota ventola NF-P12. In accordo al comunicato di Noctua, l'emissione di rumore si è ridotta mediamente del 40% rispetto a quella tipica dei modelli precedenti.

Sia LaCie 4big Quadra che LaCie 5big Network, di cui sono disponibili versioni differenti in base alla capacità di memorizzazione, sono già acquistabili, attraverso la rete di negozi specializzati legati al brand LaCie, con un MSRP che parte da $849.

Paris / Vienna, December 10th 2008 - Leading external storage manufacturer LaCie and renowned quiet cooling specialist Noctua today announced their cooperation on the development of acoustically optimized storage solutions. The recently announced LaCie 4big Quadra and LaCie 5big Network, designed by Neil Poulton, are the first LaCie four and five-bay RAID external storage solutions to feature Noctua cooling technology. Thanks to the use of Noctua's NF-P12 fan, their noise emission is reduced, on average, by 40% compared to their predecessors.
