Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, Adaptec ha lanciato una nuova linea di controller Unified Serial RAID compatibili con l'interfaccia PCI-Express. Al momento le soluzioni disponibili sono cinque e tali da coprire sia le esigenze tipiche dei sistemi a basso profilo che quelle delle macchine ad alte prestazioni aventi funzionalitą di media e application server. I modelli base sono caratterizzati dalla dotazione di 4 o 8 porte mentre le versioni al top di gamma rendono disponibili 16 porte: per tutti la velocitą di trasferimento č pari a 3Gb/s mentre la compatibilitą con le periferiche di memorizzazione di massa include sia gli hard drive con interfaccia SATA che quelli aventi interfaccia SAS (Serial Attached SCSI).
