Pochi giorni dopo il lancio della console Wii nel mercato USA, AMD si congratula con Nintendo per il successo di vendite e le attestazioni di gradimento ottenute dalla nuova macchina da gioco, indicata come "rivoluzionaria" da Dave Orton, vice-presidente esecutivo del chip-maker americano, nel comunicato stampa di seguito allegato.

Fils-Aime, presidente di Nintendo America, non è da meno: in accordo alle sue dichiarazioni, Wii è pronta "non solo a cambiare il modo in cui la gente gioca ma anche a ridefinire le modalità di interazione con le console ed i televisori a cui esse sono collegate".

Ricordiamo che Wii utilizza un chip di AMD, il cui nome in codice è Hollywood, come processore grafico. La parnership con la Nintendo dunque prosegue, dopo la precedente (e non felicissima, ndr) esperienza legata alla console GameCube, anch'essa dotata di una gpu AMD.
