ATI ha annunciato, mediante il comunicato stampa che è allegato di seguito, la realizzazione del chip Xilleon 260, successore del Xilleon 240, che rafforza l'offerta del produttore canadese nella gamma dei dispositivi, utilizzati dai costruttori di televisori, per la ricezione del segnale televisivo digitale (DTV) conforme agli standard attualmente in atto in Europa, Giappone, Corea e Stati Uniti.

Lo Xilleon 260 è in esibizione presso la fiera dell'elettronica di consumo IFA, in corso dal 1 al 6 Settembre a Berlino, in Germania: esso è dotato di pieno supporto per High Definition, oltrechè delle funzionalità di contrasto dinamico, riduzione del rumore, controllo del colore e home theater.

ATI ne ha già inviato i primi sample ai produttori di apparati televisivi.

ATI is showcasing DTV solutions at IFA from September 1 to 6, 2006 in Berlin, Germany.

Xilleon 260 follows the outstanding success of Xilleon 240 currently found in TV solutions from leading consumer electronics manufacturers. Xilleon 260 includes an exceptionally powerful video pipeline for SD and HD content. Advanced features include HD deinterlacing, 3D comb filter, dynamic contrast, noise reduction, sharpness, and color control to deliver top quality end-to-end performance. Xilleon 260 also offers a full audio subsystem for home theater applications.
