TUL Corporation ha annunciato la video card PowerColor R9 290 OC, una soluzione che va ad ampliare la sua linea di controller grafici basati sulla gpu Hawaii di AMD.

Più in dettaglio, il chip grafico della PowerColor R9 290 OC integra 2560 stream processor, mentre il core grafico lavora a 975MHz e dunque, in accordo al comunicato stampa del produttore, 30MHz oltre il valore reference previsto da AMD per la Radeon R9 290, un prodotto, quest'ultimo, peraltro non ancora annunciato da AMD.

La PowerColor R9 290 OC è dotata di un frame buffer da 4GB che lavora a 1250MHz (o 5.0Gbps) ed è connesso al processore grafico attraverso un'interfaccia a 512-bit.

DirectX 11.2, Mantle, TrueAudio e PowerTune sono alcune delle tecnologie supportate dalla PowerColor R9 290 OC, il cui set di connettori di uscita include due porte dual-link DVI-D, una HDMI e una DisplayPort.
