PowerColor ha annunciato la video card PowerColor HD7950 Boost State Edition, una soluzione basata sulla gpu Radeon HD 7950 di AMD e configurata dal produttore in maniera tale che il core grafico lavori con una frequenza di clock di base pari a 850MHz mediante una nuova revisione del BIOS. Inoltre, in funzione del carico di lavoro, e in virtù del supporto della tecnologia AMD PowerTune, questo valore può variare dinamicamente fino a raggiungere la soglia dei 925MHz.

Il frame buffer della HD7950 Boost State Edition è implementato con 3GB di RAM G-DDR5, la cui frequenza di clock è pari a 1250MHz (5.0Gbps); come previsto per questa tipologia di controller, il processore grafico e la memoria on board sono collegati da un bus a 384-bit.

Il kit di connettori di uscita della HD7950 Boost State Edition di PowerColor - che supporta anche AMD ZeroCore Power (per la riduzione dinamica della frequenza di clock della gpu e quindi del consumo di potenza), AMD Eyefinity, AMD CrossFireX e Microsoft DirectX 11.1 - è composto da due porte mini DisplayPort, una dual-link DVI-I e una HDMI.
