Iomega Corporation ha annunciato le unità di memorizzazione portatili da 1.8-inch denominate Iomega External USB 3.0 SSD Flash Drives. In accordo alla nomenclatura adottata, si tratta di drive a stato solido compatibili con la nuova interfaccia USB 3.0, che assicura transfer rate notevolmente più elevati della precendente implementazione 2.0 dello standard USB.

Tra le feature dei nuovi drive segnaliamo la cifratura nativa dei dati a 256-bit, il che garantisce un ottimo livello di sicurezza, trattandosi di una device portatile, e un ricco set di software in dotazione, tra cui v.Clone, che permette la realizzazione di una copia dei dati del PC, sistema operativo e impostazioni inclusi.
