Con il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato, A-DATA Technology ha annunciato il driver a stato solido, o SSD, con interfaccia SATA II siglato SSD S596, una unità da 2.5-inch che il prodottore ha realizzato per gli utenti high-end e enthusiast che sono soliti lavorare in ambito multi-task.
Il nuovo SSD è al momento la soluzione più veloce al mondo tra i prodotti della sua categoria: può vantare infatti una velocità in lettura sequenziale pari a
250MB/s e a 180MB/s in scrittura. Un simile risultato è stato raggiunto con l'adozione di uno stadio con funzionalità di cache implementato attraverso un buffer di SDRAM DDR2.
Questo SSD permette inoltre la riduzione del tempo di boot fino alla soglia dei venti secondi in abbinamento al Sistema Operativo Windows 7. In accordo al produttore, le prestazioni complessive del sistema aumentano del 40% rispetto a quelle offerte dalle configurazioni che utilizzando SSD standard.
Il nuovo S596 è disponibile in tre capacià (64GB, 128GB e 256GB) ed è pienamente compatibile con Windows 7 e Mac Snow Leopard. Può essere infine utilizzato anche come HDD esterno grazie al connettore mini USB di cui è dotato.
