Con il cominicato stampa di seguito allegato, TUL Corporation ha annunciato la video card PowerColor Liquid Cooling Solution (LCS) HD5870 1GB GDDR5. In accordo alla denominazione scelta dal produttore, la nuova video card è basata sulla gpu di nuova generazione ATI Radeon HD5870, configurata con un frequenza operativa più elevata rispetto a quella del design reference, essendo pari a 875MHz e non a 850MHz, ed include 1GB di memoria G-DDR5 che lavora con una frequenza di clock pari a 1250MHz (equivalenti a 5GHz), e dunque superiore di 50MHz rispetto al valore reference. Il bus tra core grafico e frame buffer è a 256-bit.
PowerColor ha imposto un regime che può essere definito "overclocked by factory" grazie ad un sistema di raffreddamento a liquido prodotto da EK, che è ricorsa ad una configurazione a slot singolo, in cui il monoblocco ricopre non soltanto la sezione della gpu ma anche l'area dei chip di memoria e lo stadio di alimentazione. In tal modo è possibile spingere i componenti verso livelli di overclock anche superiori alla già rilevante impostazione di fabbrica.
La dotazione di porte di output include i connettori dual-DVI, HDMI e DisplayPort mentre nel bundle della card è stato inserito l'ormai classico - per questa categoria di controller grafici, ndr - game DiRT2, che supporta la tecnologia DirectX 11 di Microsoft con cui la LCS HD5870 è pianamente compatibile.
La nuova soluzione high-end di Powercolor sarà commercializzata a partire dal prossimo 6 Novembre.
