Dopo il successo del lancio del primo processore grafico a 40nm, la HD4770, SAPPHIRE Technology, il principale produttore e fornitore a livello mondiale di soluzioni grafiche basate su processori AMD/ATI, è ora in produzione con la SAPPHIRE HD4730 - una potente scheda grafica di fascia media che si rivolge agli appassionati con budget di spesa ridotto.

Come le schede grafiche di fascia alta SAPPHIRE, la nuova HD4730 utilizza la più recente memoria GDDR5 e la potente architettura grafica ATI, che include le multi-purpose stream processing units, il sistema di gestione della memoria integrata e la decodifica video hardware on-chip.

SAPPHIRE HD4730 ha 640 processori stream - due volte tanto quanto le schede di fascia media delle generazioni precedenti - core e velocità di clock di 750MHz - più veloce di prodotti concorrenti - insieme con 512MB di memoria GDDR5 con interfaccia a 128-bit e clock a 900MHz (3600MHz effettivo). La SAPPHIRE HD4730 offre eccellenti prestazioni di gioco e di rendering delle immagini a un prezzo competitivo.

Come la precedente generazione, SAPPHIRE HD4730 supporta DirectX10.1 per una migliore resa delle prestazioni e per gli effetti grafici speciali presenti e futuri negli ultimi giochi. La serie SAPPHIRE HD4730 utilizza l’interfaccia PCI-Express Gen2 e dispone di connettori per cavi CrossFireX, che permettono a due schede di essere utilizzate insieme su di una scheda madre compatibile CrossFireX, per prestazioni grafiche più elevate. La SAPPHIRE HD4730 utilizza un sistema di raffreddamento assistito da una ventola convenzionale a due slot a bassa rumorosità e dispone di uscite dual-link DVI, VGA e HDMI direttamente su staffa, che consente di utilizzare due schermi in contemporanea senza adattatori.

Le schede grafiche SAPPHIRE della serie HD 4000 utilizzano la più recente tecnologia ATI Avivo HD per avanzate prestazioni video. Queste schede implementano inoltre un decoder UVD (Unified Video Decoder) di nuova generazione per la decodifica hardware accelerata di contenuti su supporti Blu-ray e HD DVD sia per i codec VC-1 e H.264 che per file Mpeg, riducendo considerevolmente il carico di lavoro sulla CPU. La tecnologia di upscaling integrata garantisce immagini video DVD di ottima qualità. Grazie ai driver più avanzati, la SAPPHIRE HD 4730 offre anche l'elaborazione ATI Stream per accelerare il video transcoding e per altre applicazioni supportate.

Following the successful launch of the world’s first 40nm Graphics processor, the HD4770, SAPPHIRE Technology, the leading manufacturer and worldwide supplier of AMD/ATI based graphics solutions is now shipping the SAPPHIRE HD 4730 - a powerful midrange graphics card that will appeal to enthusiasts on a budget. Like SAPPHIRE’s high end graphics cards, the new HD 4730 uses the latest GDDR5 memory and the powerful graphics architectures from the ATI division of AMD, incorporating multi-purpose stream processing units, integrated memory management architecture and on-chip hardware video decoding.

SAPPHIRE HD 4730 has 640 stream processors – twice as many as previous generation mid-range cards - and core clock speed of 750MHz - faster than competing products - together with 512MB of GDDR5 memory with a 128-bit interface clocked at 900MHz (3600MHz effective). The SAPPHIRE HD 4730 delivers excellent performance for gaming or image rendering at a competitive price point.

Like the previous generation, SAPPHIRE HD 4730 supports DirectX10.1 for enhanced rendering performance and special lighting effects now being implemented in the latest games. The SAPPHIRE HD 4730 series uses the PCI-Express Gen2 interface, and features connectors for CrossFireX bridge cables, allowing two cards to be used together on a CrossFireX compatible mainboard for higher graphics performance. The SAPPHIRE HD 4730 uses a conventional two slot fan assisted cooler optimized for low noise and offers dual-link DVI, VGA and HDMI ports on the bracket, allowing a choice of two displays to be used without adaptors.

SAPPHIRE graphics cards in the HD 4000 series incorporate the latest ATI Avivo HD Technology for enhanced Video display. They feature a new generation of built in hardware UVD (Unified Video decoder) considerably reducing CPU load and delivering smooth decoding of Blu-ray and HD DVD content for both VC-1 and H.264 codecs, as well as Mpeg files. Integrated upscaling technology delivers the best quality DVD video images. With the latest drivers, the SAPPHIRE HD 4730 also offers ATI Stream processing for the acceleration of video transcoding and other supported applications.
