08.03.2012 - Epic shows Samaritan demo running on a single NVIDIA Kepler gpu

According to NVIDIA, at the Game Developers Conference 2012 the software house Epic Games has shown the Samaritan demo, a Unreal Engine 3 based software that requires a high computing power to create realistic street scenes using point light reflections.

Last year at the Game Developers Conference 2011 Epic Games unveiled the Samaritan demo running in real-time on a graphics system equipped with a 3-Way SLI multi-gpu "Fermi" configuration based on three GeForce GTX 580 video cards; now instead Epic used a Kepler-based system with one only single-gpu video card.

The current run of Samaritan demo adds a new entry to boost the graphics quality without to drop the performances, the Fast Approximate Anti-Aliasing (FXAA), an NVIDIA-developed anti-aliasing technique aiming to improve upon the established success of Multisample Anti-Aliasing (MSAA), the form of anti-aliasing most commonly seen in today's games.
