Although the proven Version 5.9 is still available, an update to version 6.0 is recommended. All the familiar functions of Version 5 remain unchanged and existing backup tasks (buj-files) are fully compatible. However, Version 6 offers a Control Panel (see screenshot at upper right) as an important new feature. The panel presents a summary of all important information in a clearly-arranged form. Just a few clicks are required to change the configurations and start your backups:
- List of the user's backup tasks
- Display of all important details of a selected backup task
- Manual start of a selected backup just by clicking a button
- Creation of Desktop shortcuts to start backups
- Clearly-arranged summary of all automatic backups (see screenshot at lower right)
- Easy configuration of time schedules for automatic backups at login, logoff or a selected time
- Configuration of backups using Windows Task Scheduler
- Additional functions such as restore, verifying files and cleaning up backup directories
- New tool PbMon for performing real-time backups of files (description).
- Many improvements in detail and bug fixes
