Don't put your v5 in a AGP3.0 slot (with 8x support), v5 is AGP 2x and can work only with AGP up to 4x motherboards
If you want to safely overclock don't pass 180mhz

Make that up to Universal AGP x4/x2 motherboards which support 3.3 AGP voltage!!!

Do remmeber that not every AGP x4 board supports the 3dfx AGP x2 cards.

Only The Voodoo 4 4500 AGP from 3dfx/STB has true AGP x4.
