Stick your nose in the ASUS P4S533 series motherboards. They've got universal APG slots (except the P4S533-X) which can handle the V5 5500 so they should also be able to handle the V5 6000.

I know because I've got an ASUS P4S533 with a P4 2,26GHz and a Voodoo 5 5500.

Hello I really need this adapter to run my 6k. Do you know where can I buy it in europe? Or do you sell them?

AthlonXP 2100+@2700+, 256MB PC266@333 RAM,MSI MS-746F Ultra,
Voodoo5 MAC PCI
AthlonXP 1.86GHz@2.2GHz (barton), 1024MB PC400 RAM,MSI KT6-Delta LSR,
Voodoo5 6000 rev. 3700 A1 + Voodoo4 4200 AGP(Daytona) and many more...

I have 2 motherboard (chipset 645dx), the ABIT SA7 is totally incompatible with my v6k. The screens is always frozen.
But when I utilize the mobo DIF NS70-EC, the problems are out... :)

As far as I know, the adapter is only  can buy in JAPAN!

Thanky

I want one too! [8D]

well I know that this topic is a bit on the old track but this Mobo of tyan would be the ultimate SMP solution for the AGP to PCI converter idea!

here is the foto of this beasty SMP board, yes 4x Opteron 848 2.2Ghz[^]is supported and also 20GB of PC2700 DDR ECC Reg max and that combined with your ;)3dfx Voodoo5 6000 AGP 128MB;) cards, then you've just built the ultimate 3dfx Workstation PC!!!!

So This

Plus This:

equals great fun!!!!

By the way dudes, this board must be extremely expensive[:0][:0][:0] And maybe there are such extreme people out here that would do such a thing :D

Hmmzz Quad CPU + Quad VPU sounds like walk'n on fire[8D][}:)][8D]

What a waste of good hardware. A 6000 is simply too slow for that system. And why AGP to PCI ? Just take a Quantum3D AAlchemy which is already pci. Try an 8264. 16x VSA-100 1GB Memory.

Hmm maybe, but it has claimed that de VSA-100 was scalable in faster systems with stronger CPU's so I thing that this system would really boost the Voodoo5 5500 and 6000's performance signifantly. VSA means Voodoo Scalable Architechture doesn't it?

true, but which applications run on both SMP and VSA chips? that heavy miulitary and commercial simulators for which those quantum cards are used, dont run on normal glide or opengl i guess....

i think you'll be better of trying a v5 6k on an athlon64 fx-53 with 2gb ram....

Well I have a Dual AMD Athlon MP 2200+ and it works fine with my Voodoo5 5500 under Win 2K Pro, specially games like Jedi KnightII: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, QuakeIIIArena, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, FS2004, Falcon 4.0 SP3, Flanker 2.51 the all run better in SMP mode.

And programes like Maya 4.2, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop 8 they also work fine with VSA 100's and SMP machines.

So that's why I mentioned that Quad Opteron mobo. I know it may be a little expensive, but just imagine it in SMP programs , like the ones I just mentioned, it is known that if an Opteron based system gets activated in SMP mode it gets a speed increase sometimes of 80 to 90% but in games like listed above maybe even 70% is still woth the go.

Anyway The OS you could use would be Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server , they support 4 CPU's and up to 32GB ram. And I've tried that OS on My Dual MP 2200+ with 1GB Twin-Moss PC-2100 ECC Reg. DDR-RAM and no problems in programs like the ones I just mentioned ;)

Anyway the price of this mainboard + the 4 Opteron 848's + the Mem would be a years spending for me and try'n to find a V56K + an AGP to PCI adapter is also something.

But anyway I though it might of been a great Idea[8)], but yes even an Athlon 64FX 53 + 2GB ram would also be nice[:I], but I rather then go for Dual Opteron 248 with 4GB ram, because my experience with SMP machines is just better than with Uni systems and anyway that is of course my opinion, in way of multitaskin with 2 CPU's is just serously easy going.;)

hmmmz, true for the quake3 engined games, and the 2d/3d drawing programs, caus they all have smp support, but those flight sims dont have smp support. so it would be faster then a 2200+ (since you'd have one 2200+ dedicated to the game), but if you ran it agains a single 2400+, the single system should be faster. also, ecc memory id slower then non-ecc memory, so perhap seven a single 2200+ would be faster then a dual 2200+.

if you want to play lots of games, smp isnt the way to go, IMHO. perhaps with the support fot HT and the upcoming dual-core cpus this will change....

just IMHO though...

btw: do you play LOMAC as well?

LOMAC, is very bad compare to Flanker2.51, extremely bad controls, even the layout of the menu is realy cartoon like and absolutely not professional, it's not even clear anymore. And I do have SMP in my Flight sims, I know that because I run the about 15 hours a day[}:)].

The Voodoo5 5500 AGP 64MB I own is in my Dual MP2200+ and I run Flanker 2.51 with FSAA x4 at Reso 1024x768x16 [Glide] at 45 frames per sec and with 1 CPU I only get 28 frames per sec same reso.
The Voodoo5 is not the cause then. So see it this way SMP is the way to go for me.

go to www.2cpu.com for more SMP questions and answers;)
