V5 5500 strange crashes

forgot to mention, are both fans working and are both heatsinks still glued on completely?  there have been times when the heatsink is still firmly attached, but the cement they used has seperated from the chip underneath where you can't see it, and has caused these types of crashing problems only in 3d mode.
