Adapter or Voodoo on too heavy load ?
Try to downclock.
Or a file corruption ?
You have to eliminate each case of default... ;)
An what is actually your configuration ?

I use Startech Intel server, based on Pericom's chip PI7C9X111SL or PI7C9X112SL (datasheets in Pericom website linked in a previous post).
More pics in 2 or 3 weeks.

My perciom adapter is based on Pericom's chips PI7C9X111SL chipset.
The same as you sugested above.

I use an AM2 Mobo with a Phenom 9850, and SFFT 1.9 driver, Win7. Nothing is overclocked, the PCIe bus is running on 100Mhz, and the voodoo5 on 166Mhz.
The PCIe bus cannot be changed under 100Mhz ( Oscar sugestion was to lower this bus to increase stability ). Ony upper values are alowed in bios. ( 100 to 250 Mhz )
The pericom adapter is not modded ( pin 49b is not masked ).

I try to mod the adapter, but the system don't start anymore.
Only a black screen. NO boot, no beep..nothing..
I bought the adapter from Oschar, and he manage to run the adapter by masking this pin. I believe that is a Mobo issue....

Without the adapter the voodoo5 card runs well..no lookups. The same with the PLX adapter, no problems.

With the Pericom adapter the 3dMark freeze sometimes and only a cold start help.

Sorry, I can't help you for the moment.
Is it a PEX1PCI1 or a PEX1PCI1R like this ?
http://www.amazon.fr/StarTech-com-PEX1PCI1R-Carte-Express-serveur/dp/B004H5WVK6

Picture or exact reference will help.

A last picture of 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 PexTurbo in larger format.

I use the adapter PEX1PCI1.

this is the freeze picture:

Btw. jix-reggio - nice picture mate ! :)
Please make some fresh pictures with the card,i am curios about the construction :)

I really like the style !

Can you post also some benchmarks results ?

I will try to get an adapter like yours asap.

hello,
for now, I am far from the place where I have my hardware.
I can not test, nor play, nor do pictures, it's for later.

Feel free to post benches or tests for '66 mode',
but please don't post uncomplete results (ie Caps tests missing in 3dm2001).
It is useless as Sfft said once to me (and he was right!).

I wish I had power users opinion about pixel shaders 1.1
of the 'advanced pixel shader'  test in my video.

I had already done this test with 3DA emulation ,
but I never got such a nice quality.
It's amazing that a 3dfx could show shadows, reflections in water,
transparency  and swiming fishes !
Maybe 'my 3dfx best moment' !
Do other V6000 or V5500 users had already seen these shaders ?

This new video will replace the other.

Hello jix-reggio,

Just a new 3dmark2001se benchmark to see if your new project will beat my score.

Koolsmoky betas drivers and V5500 PCI @186 MHz

4306 marks

jix-reggio

This result 3DMark2001 has no value.
It lacks all hardware featuressupported by the card results.
I wonder why you're hiding these results? Photoshop screen ?
I have already said it was necessary to deliver complete results on this topic, .

I don't know what you want.
My results are good with all informations.
Show me a screen with all informations you want? I don't understand.

Hardwares:

- Asus Maximus IV Extreme with Intel Core i7 2600k @3,4 GHz. (DDR3 RAM)
- Supermicro PCIexpress8x to PCI-X adaptor.

You've got 3564 marks @187 MHZ.
I've got 4306 marks @186 MHz.

I think the best adaptor is Supermicro.
Your PEX turbo is not so fast.
Try to use it on Core i7/i5 and let me know ;)

Look this topic:

http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17262

I've got 4697 marks directly on PCI-X slot.

As usually you don't miss the chance to show us your insolence.

jix-reggio is trying to make you understand that you skipped game4 test all the times; this thread lasted 16 pages but you never done a complete bench.

The game4 test doesn't increase my score.
With or without it, the score will be the same.
Be cool man, do not judge people ;)
In futur I will do a complete benchmark even if I have the same score.

@jix-reggio:

As you can see, with the full benchmark the score is the same:

V5500 PCI @184 MHz (same hardwares and drivers) :

Oh, well, I'm very cool if you ask me[8D]

But nobody are obsessed by stupid scores like you.

Again, you always missed the following tests:

Fill Rate
High Polygon Count
Bump Mapping (actually not supported)
Vertex Shaders (dx8)
Point Sprites (dx8)

What you still don't understand is that jix-reggio is not necessarily interested in score, but how the bandwidth affects these results, in particularly Vertex Shaders and Point Sprites tests.

So, keep calm, nobody here is interested to race, except you.

Some tests are not supported by the card so skipped auto.
