My videocard is a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP.
It currently has BIOS version 1.06.

Q1: What's the best BIOS to upgrade to? (1.15AGP, 1.16PCI, 1.18AGP or 1.18AGP Modified) (BIOS' from http://welcome.to/3dfxBios )

Q2: What kind of performance increase can I expect (in percentages) from upgrading to any of these BIOS'?

from what I have heard, 1.16 PCI may be the fastest bios (I realize you have an AGP adapter).  Darkrain did some benchmarking and found that to be the fastest, more info on that here: http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=86

when the sun goes down, the music turns up...

Windows XP Pro|Athlon XP 1800+|GeForce2(temporarily, for compatibility purposes)|MSI K7T266-A|768MB DDR 2700 RAM|SonicEdge 5.1 Sound Card

I have to state this again, please do not flash the cards if they are working. 3DFX cards went through a bunch of different memory manufacturrers, the cycle based timing in DramInit0 was adjusted to support that memory.

you can upgrade the voodoo 5 from 1,06 to 1.16 safely i would belive , as i did it on my v5500agp card and even used the pci 1.16 bios on a v5 agp card and found it to be faster

i tryed the 1.18 and 1.16 and found this pci version 1,16 to work the fasest

IT worth the risk on a vodooo 5 but has hank is saying on the voodoo 6000 cards DONT TOUCH THE BIOS as many have more custom bios and seems a lot more risk of giveing poor hank a headache hey
