I saw on this website these bios for the V5 5500.  I believe they are for better OC.  Is it worth changing it ?  I have version 1.06 on my card.

no, they just fix some problems. For better oc you can use rom with modified draminit0() which has bigger timings for memory.

Bigger timings means slower working?

Yes, but we're talking about microseconds. Hardly noticable and the overclock will undo any performance loss :)

But you should only flash your BIOS if you've got problems with your current BIOS.

Are there any comparisons with this modded BIOS? I mean compared to the original one ... how many MHz it allows, speed @ 166 MHz ... :)

No, results vary since not every VSA-100 chip is the same.

Well, that's always the case. :) Did nobody try the BIOS?

I tried, it worked, I could set higher clock speed without memory errors.

How fast you can overclock the V5 in comparison to the original Bios?

Vanilias Ronk

180 instead of 175, but just for a few hours, then made errors, so I think it doesn't worth, the original bios is faster, and the card can't be used at higher clock speed for a longer period. At least my card. ;) (Toshiba rams)
