Im interested in finding out what is the purpose of the 26 pin connectir in my voodoo 5500, after reading in the forum, there is a possibility of connecting a lcd screen (from an old laptop or buying a new one) to some graphic card connectors, i have researched the standards for lcd screens, and 12" screens require 20 connectors, while larger ones up to 30, please anyone advise.

Anyways if tou have the connector mentioned layout diagram, please let me know

I've heard of this being done, but it can only be used for like 640*480*16-color. I think I heard about this on Gathering of Tweakers (a Dutch site, and no, I'm not Dutch) or something, it was a while back.

very interesting,
but if take a closer look on it there are 5 or 6 pins connected to the bios of the card

The connector in my voodoo 5500 has 36 pins, the DVI interface has 24 + 4RGB +1GND

If they are connected to the bios then its probably the clock.

I need halp finding out what the is the pinout for the 26 pin connector supposed to be "digital video interface" according to this forum.

thanks again.

Hm ?

What connector exactly are you takling about?

Apart from the Analog Monitor 15pin-RGB, there should be only a Feature Connector (all Voodoo5 Cards) and the Industry Standard DVI on the MacVoodoo5.

With the 1.18 LCD enabled PC Bios, you should be able to simply plug-on your favorite TFT Monitor, and you're set, no pinout or hassles involved (?)

If you have a normal PC Voodoo5 PCI and wonder about the soldering markings (maybe thinking about simply connecting wires to those), note that the PC Voodoo5 PCI is missing a Chip (which the Mac Voodoo5 has) to drive this Connector ( Silicon Image SiI 164CT64 , CB9485.0ABC )

Falconfly, I think he's talking about the feature connector (note: "26 pins" in the first post, I think the "36" was a typo, supposed to be "26"). It is possible to connect the feature connector to an old LCD monitor, read this

Hi, thanks for your replies, and it was a typo the 36 pin connector, i've got the feature pinout (vesa), and from what i've read in this forum, in voodoofiles.net, and the dutch tweakers site it is possible to do so (connect a lcd to a agp 1.18 voodoo 5500 card), only if you find the correct type of lcd... here, in colombia lcds are cheap, like 125 usd for a 13" TFT Samsung, but this one doesnt work with the connector, ill see what i can find on this, later...
