I have a 3D Blaster 2 from Creative. Their last driver is from early 1999, compared to 3dfx's reference driver from 2000, so there is no DX7 support.
Creative's driver on the other hand allows overclocking from the control panel, which is very nifty.
I can't decide which driver to use, so I need some opinions.

General Discussions / 5500 and older games?
01 July 2011, 01:44:52
I want to get my hands on a Voodoo 5 5500, but I would like to know if there is anything I should know when I'm using it for some of the games made in the Voodoo 1/2 times. One thing I am wondering about is the miniGL implementations in a bunch of games. In Quake 2 and Half-Life, there are options between using standard OpenGL and a special OpenGL driver for Voodoo cards. Does this still matter in the much newer Voodoo 5, or has the card included full OpenGL support? If so, is there still a reason to use the miniGL driver?
Another thing, I've read something about games using Glide 1.0 won't work. What exactly is this all about?
