I refurbished a Voodoo 5 a couple of years ago, here's a link:

C74 = 10uf low ESR aluminum Cap.
C547= 1nf 0603 ceramic Cap.

The other ones may be the same (examine them for identical markings or measure them with a Cap meter).

Hope this helps...

Re: m14radu

I used OCZ Freeze thermal paste.  The cooling is very efficient.  I currently overclock my V5 to 180 MHz with absolutely no issues or visual artifacts.

I used a pair of Enzotech CNB-S1L forged copper heatsinks:

The heatsink and video card's mounting hole line up perfectly.  I didn't use the push-pins that come with the heatsinks, instead I used nylon screws for a more secure fit.  I also attached a pair of 40x40x10 mm 5V fans on top of the heatsinks.  You can see my card here:

I just completed a 3dfx/Glide V5 gaming rig.  Check out the details and photos here:

I'll answer my own question here...

I measured the power inductors and they're 4.7 uH.  The current rating is probably fairly high because of the gauge of the wire used (I'd guess around 6 - 8 amps).

Does anyone know the specifications of the two large inductors on the V5?

They're labeled 4.7.  Is it mH or uH?  What are the current and ESR ratings?

Thanks BuddyGuy,

I won one in an Ebay auction that I'm waiting to arrive.  If it turns out to be a dud or something goes wrong I'll be sure to contact you.

Cheers,

I'm in the process of putting together a classic gaming rig with iconic parts from a decade ago:

Abit BH6 motherboard
Celeron Tualatin CPU
Aureal Vortex 2 sound card

To that end, I'd like to include a V5 5500.  Anyone willing to sell a spare one from their collection?
