Thanx for your support.

I haven't been watching this topic for a while now... but I solved the problem some time ago, thanx to Falconfly pinouts.

In addition, now I own an original cable, too... ;)

Thanks all
PS VooDoo no limits ;) ...

Done.

But I think you could get better luck in asking directly to people like Hank (don't try with e-mails... he has never replied me that way), in the thread of V5 mod projects on this forum... ;)

Hi LLIaJIyH. I am happy that you succeded in making the mod. :)
This also means that my traslation has been useful. ;)

I have translated in italian your suggestion about the trimmer position. Thanks.

Can I get 3.3V ? It`s safely? What maximum voltage are safely (when VAS are cold)?

I am sorry, but there are no clue about the resistance of the VSA to a higher voltage. From here, you are risking your card. Mind it before going on with overvolt.
Mind also that the man who has made this modification said that the ram of his v5 cannot go over 192 mhz, so you will not get a real benefit in going up with vsa frequency if you do not overvolt the ram too.

And what about RAM overvolt and AGP8X? :)

I am sorry, but the man who made the modification cannot be seen very often in our forum. He has a family and a lot of things to think of, so he has not posted anymore, after that thread. I hope to read him again in the future (maybe with those mods done... [^]), but unfortunately at this time there is nothing new about his projects...

About the ram overvolt, you have the right clues to try it yourself (point 4 of the guide), if you like. But mind that the risk is totally yours... so be very careful and think a lot about it! [8)]
Obviously, post here every experience you make and the results you get.

I am happy to know that somebody has now an overvolted V5 in Russia too. [8D]

Hi all.

I resume this post for an help request.

I have an obsidian SB100, but I have no pass-through cable to check if it works.

Image Insert:

12.91 KB

Image Insert:

11.64 KB

The problem is that the pass-through cable (mind that this is a v1) is not the same used for generic V1 boards: rather than having two vga connectors (21 pins, one for the input and one for the output), it has just 1 vga connector (output to the monitor).
The input should be connected with a 9 pins round connector (to the right of the vga one, in the above pic).

Now... the question: anyone of you has the same card AND the cable?

I would like to know the pin-to-pin schema to build out one of my own...

and this that means?

Voodoo5 5500
vers. bios 1.18 TV-OUT

Probably it is a mistake in naming.
I think it is a DVI bios.

That is a VoodooMAC 5500 PCI. If it still has its normal bios the card works only in a mac. But you can flash it to pc. With the newest bios version even the dvi will be supported.

Affermative.

I got one, and flashed the bios.
Now working on my pc, cheek to cheek with my 9700pro. :)

Voodoo4/5 Setup and tweaking / To Superbox,question
08 September 2003, 13:02:38
Hello vykupitel,

I only received the card about a week ago, and I haven't done a lot with it yet, but I'll try and help you anyway.
I used this bios: http://www.voodooalert.de/files/bios/V5/v5pcivers118dvi.zip

Abuot your question: I'm sorry... I haven't any flat monitor right now to test the DVI output correctly.
I thought I could use the Radeon VGA-DVI connector, but the pins are not placed in the same way as of the Radeon, so I haven't tested it yet.
Further more, I am using Amigamerlin 3.0 and Koolsmoky's V-Control, because the tools caused WinXP to hang at startup (I use the V5 PCI in conjunction with a radeon 9700pro, on the same machine, so this is maybe an IRQ conflict problem). V-Control does not seem to have any option to enable/disable the DVI output.

Apart from this, one thing is obvious: switching to DVI in winxp seems not to be possibile at the moment, so we can guess the DVI output is not correctly detected.
This is a pic that show how the 2 video output of my Radeon are easily detected by the O/S, while the V5 looks like having just one vga output:

I thought we need Amigamerlin or somebody "inside" this card (Hank?) to know if we can find any kind of solution (a windows registry key?) to make Windows detect this output.
