Games / how can i get my v4 working with doom3?

i have the last sfft driver installed.
i put them in the d3 dir; glide3x.dll<3.10.0>(420kb)opengl32x.dll(2.13kb)<6.2.0.1>
it gave me an error
hwcInit:3dfx device not found!
however if i take them out...it goes through the console and says it cannot initate opengl
???clueless
