oh ok, thanks for the advice ps47. I'll install Quake with GL patch, go into console as you say and see what it says.

Is there a command I need to type in to get this info up, or is it automatically displayed once in the console?

Thank you.

I have got two Techworks 12mb Voodoo 2 cards running in SLI. A recent problem has developed where only 1 of the cards memory is being registered in the System Info (4mb Frame buffer, 8mb Texture), despite SLI being detected.

Any ideas what is going on here?

thanks for the reply benna.

I tried that but no joy.

I used different drivers for the sound card, and that did the trick ;-)

Voodoo2 Setup and tweaking / Rundll32 error
19 August 2007, 19:03:46
When I click details on the rundll32 error, it says "rundll32 caused an invalid page fault in module 3dfxv2ps.dll". This is one of the Fast Voodoo files.

I have discovered that if I disable my sound card (Creative CT4810), I dont have this problem.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Voodoo2 Setup and tweaking / Rundll32 error
17 August 2007, 23:53:44
Ive just setup my new (old) pc for gaming, and I am getting a Rundll32 illegal operation error. This occurs when I try to go into the display properties. When it does occur I do not get the 3dfx tab in the display properties window, and I am unable to play any games.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this?

My setup is WIndows 98SE, 2 x Techworks Voodoo 2's in SLi, Nvidia GeForce 3 agp.

Got the pc up and running again with the purchase of a new board.

Direct draw test is still the same so I suspect I will have the same graphical issues in game (not yet tested it). All I have tried so far is UT, and that played gloriously.

Another problem has however arisen, but I will post a new topic for that.

Any ideas you might have re graphical issues though, please let me know. I have got all the latest drivers for my hardware, and have even updated the bios as you suggested Glide.

Regards.

Hi Glide,

I got frustrated with the pc and ended up plugging my cards in another old pc of mine. Unfortunately the minute I switched it on, the psu decided to die, and in the process I think it fried my motherboard (no beeps on startup). I am therefore without a working gaming pc at the moment.

I am looking out for mobo's on ebay, and should have it all set up again before long. Hopefully, this will resolve all my other issues, as it will be a later board. I have however noted your comments, and will update the bios as soon as I get it.

Thanks again.

Will let you know if all goes well.

Hi Glide, thanks for the welcome and the quick response.

Ok, I have some strange findings to report. I tried running Tomb 2 & Colin McRae with each voodoo on their own (in their original pci slot), and no change there. Still had the same graphical issues.

Then installed UT demo. First tried with just one Voodoo. Worked fine with one, but not the other - the game would start; I could hear music, but window would not maximise and there was no display. I thought it must be the card, but then I swapped the cards pci position, and the card that previously didnt work now worked, suggesting perhaps there is an issue with one of the pci slots? (unfortunately I have only got 2 I can use).

I then connected the two cards for SLI (I checked that SLI had been detected) and used the good pci slot for the passthrough and monitor. UT played ok but there were diagonal streaks across the screen.

What do you think?

Cheers.

Hi all,

I am trying to reseurrect my old pc with my beloved voodoo2 cards. They are Techworks 12mb.

I am running Windows 98SE, with the above in SLI, a Matrox MGA G200 main display card, and running Direct X9.0b with the latest Fast Voodoo2 4.6 drivers.

When I run the direct x tests, I have noticed that when running the direct draw test on the voodoo's, the white square sppears streaked (with black lines running through it). I figure this is what is causing my games graphics to mess up. Examples are Tomb Raider 2 and Colin McRae rally, both of which (I think) use direct 3d.

Any ideas as to how I can rectify this?

Many thanks.
