I was able to get 3D-Analyze v2.36b to run under Vista Ultimate with all of the latest patches without a problem. The main thing though is that I have UAC disabled. I am not sure how well it will play with UAC turned on.
The only time I recieved a error copying the DLL is when the game failed to start properly for some reason. I found that the game was running in the task manager even though it was closed.
Since the dll was still being used by the game that should not have even been running it was not allowing 3D-Analyze to copy the dll a second time. As soon as I ended the task and attempted to run it again it started up properly.
Also, I have not tested this on an older video card at all. I use it for a different reason than TNL. I tested it on two GeForce 7800 GTX cards running in SLI. I use it for the Forced Windowed Mode option. That should not matter though since I recieved the same dll error you did when the program was already running. Though you may not want to run with UAC off, you might want to test it out and see if that allows you to use it. I would think that it would.
