I think the mx440 is a dx7 card...it is basically an gf2 mx with new name...at least one day I put everest on a friend machine with that card and it said it was dx7...try buying an radeon 9200/fx5200 for about 10/15eur used, if more money you could get other card for example an gf4 ti4200...but that is dx8.1 but a very good card for it time and now for the price...or radeon 9600pro/xt

Oh like I mentioned before..yes, I know my card sucks..i know it's old..I know it's crappy..but the game was running SMOOTHLY no problems..it played all movies.. no stuterring even! It was running FINE..I was having loads of fun..BUT..when I reach a certain point..(in the castle where you shoot those status that blow out fire in that lava area) it CRASHES there..so I just wanna know if there's some setting i have to adjust in my 3d analyze? or like.. if ANYONE has a trainner so I can just GET the key items and I can BYPASS the whole room all together.. ANYTHING like THAT would totally help!
Thanks alot for the suggestion tho!

Thank you for replying!
Well, I'm using a Geforce 4 440 MX 64 meg card
Which, is a horrible card none the less, but the thing is
i've been playing the game flawlessly using
3d analyzer 2.36B
to play the game I have checked off the following options

1. force windowed mode
2. force max pixel shader
3. force high precision pixel shader
4. emulate HW tnl caps
5. emulate pixel shader caps
6. emulate bump map caps
7. emulate max sim textures

on anti detect mode I chose:
shaders
and
Force 24bit buffer

So far I have had No slow downs, no choppyness etc.. etc..
but once I made it to the castle..the problem keeps happening in ONE specific area. It just keeps crashing. I thought maybe it was the game, but when I start the game WITHOUT using 3d analyzer..the game doesn't crash past the hellfire part. The only problem is when I don't use the 3d analyzer, I can't see anything on the screen, I can only hear the game running in the background.
I did update my Geforce drivers. I'm also using Direct X 9 (I believe) and I tried patching the game, but the patches i found were only for the German version, and European version of the game.. and they said "No game found" even tho I had extracted the patch to the "RE4" directory where the "Game.exe" is.

My system is a
Pentium 4 2.6mhz
512 megs
100 gig hard drive
windows XP (home edition)

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! I noticed you're having the same problem as me..I've tried and tried to get around this, but to no success..I was just wondering if you had figured out how to fix this problem..? If so please, please email me, because I haven't been able to play for atleast 2 weeks..
Thank you!!:)
