The only thing that this fabulous driver needs is the WickedGL but the version without the demo/beta splash screen, that splash is useless so I recommend to use the wickedGL version that comes with some ID Softwares games, it comes with the names openglv3.dll and openglv5.dll (they are two different versions), attached is openglv5.dll that comes with Return of Castle Wolfenstein, I lost my CD so I cannot post the openglv3.dll.

WickedGL nosplash version: //../public/uploaded/Pcjax/20061823465_wickedgl_499.zip

MPlayer is perfect in this case: http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2439
hmmmm, your hardware is very basis, if you want to full optimize MPlayer you need to compile in your pc instead of use a binary version of it. I can't assure but MPlayer have a full compatible VIDIX driver for your graphic card, it is more fast than use directx or opengl output, so maybe you want to try it before of try to use your voodoo2 to redendering dvds.

The WickedGL 4.99 works greatly for me in this game (you know the openglv5.dll wich comes with somes games from ID Software like Return to castle of Wolfenstein, is like any other wickedgl but without that demo or beta splash), I don't remember that crash changing the resolution but probably its true, I don't test it recently so probably I had forgotten it.

You can also use MPlayer for Win32 (MPF 0-19-0 recommended: http://mpf.dzm.hu/) put MesaGL in the same directory than mplayer.exe and in the command line or in the additional parameters of MPF put "-vm -screenw 640 -screenh 480 -bpp 16 -vo gl2" (or if you have two monitors use "-x 640 -y 480 -vo gl2" for have access to your desktop and see the video at the same time) if you have slow redendering additionally put "-vf scale=x/2:y/2,framestep=1 -sws 1" (where x, y are the width and height of the video) check the checkboxes Fullscreen, Doublebuffer and Direct rendering, uncheck Image post-processing and change MPlayer priority to high, the 3dfx logo creates a horrible delay with a cracking sound at startup so add a DWORD key "FX_GLIDE_NO_SPLASH=1" to your "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\3dfx Interactive\Voodoo2\Glide" to disable that splash screen you can also add it like a Environment variable with "SET FX_GLIDE_NO_SPLASH=1", tweak the options to your preferences and enjoy. ;-)
