General Discussions / 3Dfx tools for Windows NT4?

Thank you Glide for your informative reply. I certainly benefit much from it.

These few days I've been searching for 3rd party drivers and tools and came across the improved open source 3Dfx Glide 2.x and 3.x, OpenGL drivers and V.Control utility from KoolSmoky. Looks pretty good and definitely worth an upgrade.

However, I wonder if installing them on top of the 3Dfx NT4 reference driver will cause any problem. Am I supposed to use other 3rd party driver instead since on the Win32 driver web page, KoolSmoky mentioned about using "x3dfx, amigamerlin, and 3dhq driver packs."

General Discussions / 3Dfx tools for Windows NT4?

Hi.

I've a old P-II PC still running on NT4 Workstation and Voodoo3 2000 card. I know that 3Dfx did release a reference driver for NT4 (v3-wnt-figs-1.04.00.exe) and I'm using it.

However, I also came across the 3Dfx tools (v1.5.6.66 and v2.6.1.110) at http://www.falconfly.de/tools.htm. I believe these additional utility tools are also from 3Dfx and are used for tweaking the Voodoo card settings if I'm not wrong.

However these tools seem to be only available for Windows 9x and not NT. So I would like to ask around if anyone has ever encountered a version of 3Dfx tools for NT4 user. I suspect it doesn't exist and 3Dfx only released a version for Windows 9x but I hope someone can clarify my doubt.

Thanks for any information on this matter.
