Ok, we all know that any ordinary V2-drivers for Windows XP/2K ain't got no d3d-support, right? There was this early beta-driver that also included basic 2d-capabilities.
Would it be possible to merge this basic 2d- and d3d-capability into the existing OpenGL-drivers, getting a "full" (albeit somewhat buggy) driver for XP/2k?

I tried to search the net for any previous attempts on merging those drivers, but I can't find any.

The reason for the question is that I have this old Pentium-machine that I am spicing up a bit. Unfortunately, I do not have any proper 2d-card for it, I only have an old ISA-VGA card that works, but only in 800x600x4. :-) Getting 2d on that voodoo2 would pretty things up a bit. adding d3d-support would make a LOT of people on this (and other) boards happy.

So,
is it doable?
