Well it's really been a while since i have been here, and i wanna say thanks to all of the people that helped me, but i think im done with all of this now, voodoo and what not, i just lost 2 in a house fire and actually everything else i owned, my poor v5 5500 agp rev2600 a0 and my mac voodoo 5 5500 pci mac rev2700 a1 it was fun and i did love the card but now i have much more important things to worry about, and like i said thanks it really was great for a while...

Hey what's up i keep getting a fk'd up error 2, i have win98se and every time i try to install the tools it says file system error, newdev.dll not found, and i have gotten the drivers from 2 diff places so its not like they are only corruptcomin from som'where but i will try the one i just got from falconfly if they dont work i will let u know, thx

sorry my friend it doesnt quite work that way, i have instlled several diff versions of dx, and now i am at dx9c but the dx tools i have used only report my D3D version being 7 but i found a work around for it, if i cant get the game to run then i just run the dx diagnostic tool that comes w/ dx and it works great. but thanks anyways.

Well i know how you all hate when people post the same thing in more than one catagory but... I just formatted my hdd and installed dx9c and it wont update my d3d files past dx7, every proggy i run to test dx says i only have d3d7 installed, even the direct x tool that comes w/ n nvidia geforce fx5200, i also have a voodoo 5 5500 mac (flashed to x86) installed, but i havnt yet installed the drivers for it because i like my geforece a lot, and i only wanna play gta 3 right now but everytime i play it it crashes after about 3 mins, things slow down to a halt then i get a ddhelp.? (dll i think) error and then every time i run it after that w/o shutting my pc down it crashes w/o even starting, I'm runnin win 98 se w/ all updates and service packs, should i try to install another ver of dx? or what should, i do, or should i even try starting w/ dx8 and working my way up? well thanks, and sorry about the double post but i waited like a week and something an only 11 people even looked at it so i decided to do this, thanks again for any and all help you make available to me.

hey there i just got a geforce fx 5200 w/ composite & s-vid tv out and i just wanna know if it is safe for me to put the agp 4x card in my agp 2x slot, it says that it runs fine at 2x but i wanna know if i will hurt the card putting it in there.  Thanks.

I tried several times to flash my new voodoo 5 5500 pci mac in dos and it would not recognize the card, and when it finally did my pc crashed while flashing it, so i reverted to flashing it in windows using a dos emulator (the one that comes w/ win i.e. command.com) and it worked first try like a snap, now it's the only card that i have in my pc and its great, i know ur supposed to flash things from dos, or u can fry them, but after 2 hours of nothing i had to try and it worked great, is this a bad thing?  well thanks for any feedback. so has anyone tested this bios yet? i just wanna know, but also i have retired my agp i got a mac pci and it seems to be MUCH better thanks

Well i just got a voodoo 5 5500 pci for and it is MUCH better than the v5 5500 agp that I have been using for a while, its faster less buggy and MUCH more stable... does this make sense, i thought that agp cards were supposed to be faster, and besides which my v5 5500 agp was runnin at an 84 mhz bus rate, and i know that it didnt use agp texturing so it's basicly a pci card but wouldnt that make them equal? well i guess that's about it, oh, and the colors look MUCH better on my new voodoo, plus i have dvi out now i wish they would have released others like this for pc, poor 3dfx, overall this card is better, im dl'n 3d mark 03and im bout to test this one right now, so i will let u know how that comes out, and if it amazes me i will pop my agp back in and see how they compare, ty

ahoy hoy...  Well i just got my hands on a v5 5500 pci for mac, w/ dvi out and i have had it runnin at 173 since i flashed it and it has better color (richer) better frame rates and and seems more stable than the v5 5500 agp i have been runnin for a while now, which has been retired, and will soon be goin on my wall to show off, but the specs on my agp are ver 2500 rev a, orig bios ver 1.06 updated to 1.18b03 w/ hyundai ram, and my v5 5500 pci is a 2900, A (i beleive) with mt ram (interesting) set at ~6 ns by default.

I dont see why it wouldnt work with a pci too, cause I have heard many times that a pci bios will work for agp,  so why not the other way around, because the agp version is just a pci card with an agp interface (if htat makes sense to you)

I am still and always will be a doom freak, loved it since i played the  dos ver. a LONG time ago... but would Unreal Tournament count?.... or even Quake 64, cause those are also GREAT, i never cared too much for the duke and wolfenstein just didnt intrigue me either.

well well i have been running my voodoo 5 5500 at 173~185 for about 7 months now... and I USUALLY dont have any probs... the only time it really locks up on me is when the temp outside goes up to about 90 then it's hard for me to keep the temp down on my card, cause i dont have air conditioning, but it really is a piece of art, atleast that's what i believe, and i have been using the bios that i posted for almost a month now and it seems MUCH more stable, oh and about the timings, u can set them all at startup when u go into the setup program in the bios rom.. i just dont know what most of the timres actaully do, im sure if i really tried to research it i could find out but i dont care enough to try and set them i just wanna change the freq mostly, and it is easier to do it w/ the bios file than it is to wait for my pc to boot up and then go to the v5 overclocker that koolsmokey made (not that its not great but...) it just easier to do it once and not have to worry about it everytime i turn my pc on, but if ne1 knows what the tRAS and such to plz inform me, for i would like to know im just kinda lazy:D, thanks again.

this bios file that i found was modded by rainbow in mid 2k4
and it works better... the bios file is 1.18b03 and it has a few built in things like a 3dfx logo at startup and a setup util built into the bios... if u dont belive me check it urself... i have been usin for a month or so now.. works better than the others... and its diff than the 2 that are already posted on this site

Well well i also wanted to know im bout to get a voodoo 5 5500 mac and flash it to pc then i wanted to know if i can run 2 monitors off of  it showing seperate displays (i.e multi-monitor support) and if so will it conflict w/ my 2 monitors i will be running off of my g-force fx 5200 (t.v and monitor) it has a db 15 monitor plug an s-vid and a composite out... i just wanted to know if i can use all 5??? that would be AWESOME thanks for all the help you guys all give me im very appreciative

I just wanna say thanks for tryin it when u get a chance and if u can lemme know what some of the options mean (when pc starts u will get a screen that says pres f1 to enter vid card setup) cause im afraid to change anything but the freq. at the moment, but like i said thanks...
