in bios editor - possible. BMP must have 16 colors, uncompressed and width must divide on 8 without remainder (i.e. 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, ...), height can be any. The maximum size is defined from free space in bios image.

in special bioses - only when compiling bios from source code. restrictions as in editor.

3dfx flash 2.17 mod:
1. Based on "3dfx flash 2.17" source code.
2. Before flashing, displays all 3dfx cards on system and their PCI location.
3. Displays vendor and mark flash chip (bios chip).
4. Saves original bios (from card), without flashing.
5. Fixes small bug, if system has several PCI buses.

My bioses flashed with any 3dfx flashers. I'm tested v2.11, v2,14 and 2.17.

bios for Voodoo5 AGP will not work on Voodoo5 PCI.

this bios is based on sources of bios v1.18.
default frequency - 166 mhz.

after flashing and the first start:
1. press F2 for initiation adjustment "by default".
2. restart computer.
3. press F1 and change adjustment.

VGA bios setup works at frequency "by default" and installs the user frequency only when turning in POST computer.
i.e. when installing the too much frequency, necessary only to install adjustment "by default".

use mismatched driver.
I have Monster 2 (8 mb) and Astro PV830 (12 mb). I used FastVoodoo 4 XP GE and mismatched Glide 2x and 3x from mismatched sli driver for win9x (v3.02.02). works in win2k.

OpenGL Update works only with 3dfx ICD driver v1.0.0.0761 (Jan 16 2001), size 1102096 bytes.

1. rename 3dfx ICD driver (3dfxogl.dll) in Windows/system or WinNT/System32 to 3dfxicd.dll.
2. Copy OpenGL update (3dfxogl.dll) in same directory.

Special VGA Bios Setup - this setup in bios from voodoo5. Allows to change the frequency and memory timings (CAS, RAS etc) up to a loading of an operating system.

To GxpOGL I added the following, and I offer to add in MesaFX:
1. GL_SGIS/EXT_generate_mipmap - through gluBuild2DMipmaps.
  Realized and tested in RadeonAutoMipGen demo (ATI).
2. GL_NV_fence, GL_NV_pixel_data_range, GL_NV_vertex_array_range,
  GL_NV_vertex_array_range2 - fake extensions. Only empty functions.
  Realized and tested in learning_VAR demo (nVidia).
3. GL_SUN/EXT_multi_draw_arrays and GL_IBM_multimode_draw_arrays -
  implementation in documentation on opengl extensions.
4. Also realized GL_ARB_multisample through GL_3DFX_multisample.
  Also has corrected an error in GL_3DFX_tbuffer
  (glTBufferMask3DFX and glTbufferMask3DFX).
