I maybe be asking too much, but i think SFFT you´re the only guy i know thath can answer this question : Why GTA3 and GTA Vice City wont run on The V3????? Like i´ve even head that on intel system it does, is this true???? Please forgiveme if im asking too much, but this is really upseting my mind

Wll they do work. Or, I have had vice city working on a Voodoo 3 3500 AGP. But that wasn't with these SFFT drivers unfortunately.

I was thinking that these drivers are becoming very grown up now. Are you already thinking to create a Release Candidate V1.0 or something like it. Perhaps is is time to ;)

Flatout and Battlefield 1942 Do run. But they hang after a little while. There are also some black dot's in the background and textures which are far away. The same problem occurs with the textures under windows Xp here, with SFFT Alpha 22, but the game won't hang though :)

(Perhaps it is Bios 1.18... standard, which the previous owner flashed..?)

Best revision wouldn't really mind i think. An Ultra 2 will always be a revision 2. Anyway, you'll be fine i think, no matter what :)

I think you people have forgotten something. Every Single KT333 chipset does support an FSB up to 166 MHz. Even higher with OC'ing. Bút the southbridge couldn't agree with that :( So on every revision 2 KT333 board, there is an 166 FSB sollution, that works perfectly.

Also, there are some Rev 1 boards who also work flawlessly with 166 MHz FSB. My MSI KT3 Ultra ARU. That is infact the predessor of the KT3 Ultra AR 2, There might be some more.

Anyway, If you have an Revision 2 KT333 mainboard, 166 MHZ FSB is supported, due to a better and new southbridge. (The same a KT400 has frankly ;))

Voodoo4/5 Setup and tweaking / Low 3dmark01 score..

I am suffering the same problem, but not that worse. A V5 5500 PCI seems to be a lot slower in 3dmark 2001, than an AGP is. I had a mere 2500 points with my first PCI. Then, with the same settings and another PCI, I ended up with 2200.

That also seems to be very PCI revision dependent.. Kinda weird problem.. but anyway.. A AGP is always faster.

It hasn't much to do with the SFFT drivers, however, NFSU2 isn't running under Windows 98 SE with Evolution drivers.. Sadly, a blank black screen, the game doesn't crash however :P

Anyone here tried "Flatout" on SFFT? It works with 3danalyze in Windows 98, but it crashes after a few minutes :(

Have you been doing any modding to the card itself? Perhaps it broke down during the time.

I have heard about a Voodoo 5 that broke down a few days after the modding. A Heatsink placed on the memory short circuited some pin's. It went bad after a few day's though..

I have a lot of card's but most aren't in my reach, i'm lazy ATM :P

Voodoo 5 5500 AGP Hyundai RAM, Max 188 MHz, Rev2500A1

Voodoo 5 5500 PCI MT RAM, It was said to me it maxed @ 191 MHz. Rev 2700A1

I Also have a Powercolor V3 3000 Rev 0042 :P

I think you have a bit of driver corruption.

You may try to reinstall Windows. Then install the latest and best driver. You can also try Windows 98. Or even make a dual boot. Which I have too.

I have 2 Voodoo 5 cards now.

One is equipped with Hyundai RAM and is a Rev2500A My Voodoo 5 5500 AGP. This one does 189 MHz Max.

The other one is a early Voodoo 5 5500 PCI, and it is equipped with MT RAM, which seems to be rare. Is that good or bad? Will it clock high. As far as I know, the first owner clocked it op to an amazing 191 MHz. The Revision is an early 2700A

Thanks for your help, to all of you. I have a Voodoo5 5500 AGP with Bios v1.06 and I believe it's not a 1.5V card. That's why I'm trying to find a good mainboard that could use it.

I have an Abit BX133 RAID and I'm using it with a Pentium III 1.1Ghz and 512MB RAM and it's working fine, but I knew that there were other mainboards that could support the card with higher and more powerful processors.

Does the MSI KT3 Ultra 2 support it?

For AMD there is only one chipset you can have. That will be the KT333. For that is one simple reason. That chipset supports 166 MHz FSB ánd AGP 2x. You can put a Barton 3000+ in that mainboard with a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP if you want.

I have A kt333 too, a MSI KT3 Ultra ARU. That's in fact the same board as the Ultra 2 but an older revision. As you might know the older revisions of the KT333 chipsets have a bug in the southbridge so it cant operate @ 166 MHz, to solve the problem you need the revision 2 mainboards with a KT333 chipset. However my revision 1.x doesn't have that problem.

I'm running a Duron 1600 Flawlessly @ 174 MHz FSB = 2094 MHz. With a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP @ 189 MHz it results in an astonishing 2929 3dmark 2001 points :)

What was the problem than? There may be some people who can use the foud solution ;)

And do you have some nice pictures of you're setup? :)

1. Voodoo AGP cards are only PCI cards with an AGP connector.

2. Voodoo PCI cards are of a later production date.
AGP is from 1900 to 2900 and PCI from 2900 to 3500 if I'm not mistaking:

My Voodoo 5 5500 PCI is a revision 2700A1, so that would be the first PCI series.

From my opinion is a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP a little bit quicker than a PCI version, due to the 66 MHz transfer rate instead of 33 MHz. But the difference is 2-3% maxed.

I will test it if I can find some time to do it.

So there are now 2 Rampage's in the USA, and one in Italy?

Cool 8)

But, there are a lot of people who claimed they have seen the first Rampage card in the USA, but áre there any pictures of it?
